The first Cork Acoustic Insulation solution achieving A+

Highest score for environmental performance awarded to AcoustiCORK®
The AcoustiCORK® range of products manufactured by Amorim Cork Composites, a subsidiary of CORTICEIRA AMORIM, was awarded A+ rating by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in London. It was the first sound insulating cork underlayment to receive an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

The A+ rating awarded to AcoustiCORK® underlayments is, according to international standards, a proof of the superior environmental performance of this product that was submitted to assessment studies in accordance with environmental rating systems such as BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method). It should be noted, for instance, that all public buildings in the UK are assessed under the BREEAM scheme.

The overall goal of an EPD is to provide relevant, verified and comparable information about the environmental impact of the use of different solutions of products and provide professionals engaged in this industry with information on construction products that are a benchmark for sustainable buildings.

Amorim Cork Composites’ cork underlayments are used in many national and international projects, especially in the European, the USA, the Russian and the Middle East markets and are designed for use under practically every flooring type and it can even be used under the screed.
